The Community Welfare Council of Newtown is a community service organization which includes the Newtown Cemetery, the Newtown Theatre, and Pickering Manor.
Pickering Manor is the only 501©3 senior living community fully owned and operated by the community in Bucks County, PA.
We rely on the generosity of our community, both here in Pennsylvania and to our networks across the country, to provide 5-star rated service to the continuum of care for seniors in our area including Independent living, Personal care, Short-term rehabilitation, Assisted living, Skilled nursing
We work to continue the mission of our founder H. Russell Pickering, who first opened his home to residents in 1963.

Pickering Manor holds fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for building improvements and residents’ care. Support the cause through your gift of attendance, general donation, or sponsorship on behalf of you or your business. Below is a list of our special events. Every April, Pickering Manor holds a car raffle for a NEW Mercedes-Benz. Tickets can be purchased for $100 and only 800 will be sold. Winners can choose from the car or $25,000 in cash! This year’s event (2018) will take place on Friday, April 20. Click here to purchase a ticket!
Every fall, Pickering Manor hosts a fundraiser at an upscale location. Various sponsorship levels ($500 to $10,000) are available. The elegant evening includes hors d’oeuvres, dinner, drinks, live music, and many other surprises to benefit Pickering Manor. This year’s event (2018) will take place on Saturday, October 27 at Spring Mill Manor. Check out pictures from last year’s event here.
Newtown Rotary Golf Tournament
Every June, the Newtown Rotary hosts a golf tournament to benefit the residents of Pickering Manor. Participate either through the purchase of a ticket, sponsor through your company, or donate to the auction. This year’s event (2018) will take place on Monday, June 11 at Trenton Country Club. Pickering will host its first Annual Phillies Night on Saturday, April 28 where 50% of the ticket sale proceeds, over 50 tickets, will be donated to Pickering Manor. Pickering Manor offers a variety of ways for our donors to support us.
In some cases, gifts to Pickering are fully tax-deductible.
You can choose to attend a fundraiser, purchase a raffle ticket to win a NEW Mercedes-Benz, give through your company by way of a sponsorship or matching gift, or consider a gift of stock, gift annuity, or leave a donation through an estate.
